Ceramic
Fiber boards are a vacuum-formed insulation which are
available in various grades to meet a specific density
and temperature requirements. These boards combine the
lightweight, low thermal conductivity and thermal shock
advantage of ceramic fiber with the high-tensile and
compressive strengths of a rigid board. The rigid
properties allow the board to be resistant to particulate
and hot gas erosion along with most chemical attacks and
abrasions
1 Temperature range (°F): up to 3200 melting point
2 Thickness 1/8" to 3"
3 Properties:
· Low thermal conductivity and heat storage
· Close thickness tolerances
· Excellent surface finish and uniformity
· Easily fabricated and die-cut
· Good resistance to chemical attack
· Different strength ranges in lightweight fiber form
4 Typical Applications:
· High temperature gaskets and seals
· Back up insulation to dense refractories, firebrick
· Expansion joint material
· Appliance and heat processing equipment insulation
· Combustion chamber construction
· General molten metal contact
· Trough linings for molten aluminum
